Thomas, Wade, Master Electrican

  Wade Leroy Thomas, 67, of Macclenny died August 2, 2011 of natural causes with
family and friends by his side. He was born in Jacksonville on March 13, 1944, the 
son of Lindsey and Lillian Thomas. Wade graduated from Paxon High School and was a 
member of the National Guard. He was a master electrician for GE and National Can.
   Mr. Thomas was a good man, father and grandfather and loved by many. He loved
fishing with his buddies, was an FSU Seminoles fan and an avid golfer in his younger 
years. He was preceded in death by wife Marlys Thomas.
 Survivors include sister Linda; son Brian; daughter Karen; grandsons Parker and 
Paxton.
  The funeral service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Macclenny 
on August 27 at 5:00 pm. Giddens-Reed Funeral Home of Baldwin is in charge of 
arrangements. 

Torode, Sara
 Sarah Elizabeth Torode, 88, of Kingsley Lake died Monday, September 5, 2011 at 
Windsor Manor Nursing Home in Starke.
  She was born on August 11, 1923 to the late Charles William and Minie (Mitchell)
Poythress, and was a homemaker. Mrs. Torode was a longtime resident of the area 
and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Starke where she was a member 
of the Women’s Circle and taught Sunday School for many years. Mrs. Torode was 
also a past member of the Jr. Woman’s Club and the Woman’s Club of Starke. 
  She was preceded in death by her husband Mr. John A. Torode in 2001.
  Survivors include children Sally Torode of Jacksonville, John Torode (Tracy) 
and Richard Torode of Starke, and Carl Torode (Christie) of Kingsley Lake; sister 
Luta Kilgo of Macclenny; grandchildren Megan, Mary, Shelley, Amanda, Shauna, and 
great-grandson Ryker Sean Welch.
  The funeral service will be held Thursday, September 8 at 2:00 pm at her 
church with Pastor Mike Moore officiating. Burial will follow at the Kingsley 
Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Methodist 
Children’s Home or the Methodist Youth Dept., P.O. Box 157, Starke, FL 32091. 
Jones-Gallaher Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
