  Matthew “Matt” Steven Hendrix, 37, of Orange Park died August 16, 2011.
  He was born in Jacksonville on June 17, 1974 and raised in Macclenny. Matt loved 
his family and friends and adored his wife. He enjoyed many things in life, 
especially being a wonderful father to his son and step-sons, coaching 
Little League baseball and supporting Gator football. He will be remembered 
as a firefighter and EMT with a tender heart for people in need.
  Survivors include wife Jennifer Zatorski Hendrix of Orange Park; son 
Jacob Hendrix of Macclenny; parents Wesley Steven and Regina Kloss Hendrix 
of Macclenny; step-sons Anthony and Michael Farrell of Orange Park; brother 
Lance (Carol) Hendrix; sister Lee Hendrix of Jacksonville; granddaughter 
Kylee Farrell; his son Jacob’s mother Katrina Jones of Macclenny. He also 
leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and great friends.
  The funeral service was held on August 23 at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church 
with Father Salwek Bielsiewicz officiating.
V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services were in charge of the arrangements.

Higginbotham, Viola “Suggs” Friday, 09 April 2010 From The Baker County Press Viola “Suggs” Higginbotham died March 16, 2010 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center after a sudden illness. She was born on July 13, 1929 in Hilliard, and was a member of West Jacksonville Baptist Church where she served as a greeter for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, watching Gator games and NASCAR. She will be greatly missed by her family, and was preceded in death by parents Stella and Jess Johnson; husbands Marion Higginbotham and Reverend Gerald Suggs; brother James Johnson. Survivors include son Wayne (Penny) Suggs of Yulee; daughters Vada Suggs of Orange Park and Brenda (Jerry) Crews of Glen St. Mary; siblings Carrie (Dub) Summerall of Jacksonville, Sammy (Elaine) Johnson of Hilliard and Charles (Elaine) Johnson of Atlanta; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. The funeral service was held March 20, 2010 at 2:00 pm at her church, followed by military graveside service at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens. Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home of Jacksonville was in charge of arrangements.
